How did you get into weddings?
I hold an M.Sc. in Finance and an MBA. I have worked for 10 years in major corporations (IBM, Ford, retail banks) as financial analyst and economist. I started photographing weddings in 2010 as a part time job. In 2012 I decided to pursue my passion and quit my job in the corporate world. Currently, I am a full time father of two wonderful daughters and a fine art wedding photographer. I love capturing your most romantic moments on your big day in an artistic way.
What’s your style?
I strongly agree with the famous photographer Sebastian Salgado:“I don’t believe a person has a style. What people have is a way of photographing what is inside them. What is there comes out.”
My style may be described as “artistic documentary.” I love photographing your significant moments as they unfold naturally without interference from me. However, I also put my heart into your creative portraits. I look for emotional gesture, interesting light, angles and beautiful blurred backgrounds using my favorite Canon 85mm f/1.4L IS and 200mm f/2 L IS prime lenses. You may see me lying on the ground trying to capture an authentic and romantic moment.
What is your equipment?
I carry with me and use simultaneously three or four camera bodies. I need to use different camera bodies in order to capture a variety of shots without having to change lenses. I bring 7-8 professional prime lenses which capture the moment in very low light situations. This group of lenses allow me to reach the full potential of my creativity.
My favorite lenses are: Canon 200mm f/2L IS, Canon 85mm f1/.4L IS, Canon 35mm f/1.4L II, Sigma 20mm f/1.4 Art, Sigma 135mm f/1.8 Art.
We wish we could meet with you, but we don’t live in NY state. Is there an alternative?
I shoot weddings worldwide and some of my couples hire me without an in-person meeting. I respond immediately and thoroughly to your emails. I would love talking to you on the phone to understand your expectations for your big day.
Do you photograph details and family group photos?
Yes! The story of your big day cannot be complete without the details and family group photos.
The groom is usually uncomfortable having his picture taken. How can you help him on the wedding day?
My ten year career in the corporate world has taught me to remain calm even in very stressful situations. I like to be discrete and act like being one of your friends celebrating on your big day. I tell my couples to forget my presence and just be themselves.
What do you do if we have an outdoor venue and it rains on our wedding day?
I use professional Canon DSLR cameras and L series lenses which are dust and drip proof.
Should I give you a shot list?
On my website you will see that my coverage is thorough, including photos of your dress, jewelry, shoes, flowers, food and reception décor. I take 300-400 photos per hour of photography coverage. There is no need to give me a shot list. The only list which may be useful is your list of family group shots.
When will we see our photographs?
Two days after your wedding day your online gallery will be made available for you and all your friends and family to see. If you choose a photography package with signature style editing, completion takes about 50 hours of work. In order to create works of art it is necessary to devote this much time in the digital darkroom. These fully processed images can then be purchased at full resolution.
